Our Mission

Saving Our Sons Initiative (SOSI) is dedicated to advancing cardiovascular health and overall wellness in underserved communities through prevention, education, and early awareness.
We work to equip youth and families with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to make healthier lifestyle choices and reduce long-term health disparities.

THE FUTURE
Our Vision
Our vision is to build healthier, more informed communities where every child and family has access to life-saving health education and preventive resources. We strive to create a future where heart health awareness begins early and is sustained across generations.
Why SOSI Exists
Saving Our Sons Initiative was created to address a critical gap between access to healthcare and access to knowledge. In many underserved communities, families face barriers to preventive care, limited health education, and delayed diagnosis of conditions that could be managed or prevented with early awareness.
SOSI exists to bridge that gap, by connecting communities to resources, delivering culturally relevant education, and empowering individuals to take control of their health before issues become life-threatening.

JaTio Skinner
Founder’s Story
JaTio Skinner founded the Saving Our Sons Initiative (SOSI) following a deeply personal and transformative journey. Her commitment to heart health in underserved communities stems from witnessing firsthand the devastating impact of preventable cardiovascular conditions on families. By sharing her story, JaTio aims to bridge the gap between healthcare resources and the people who need them most, foster trust, and inspire a new generation to take charge of their wellness through education and proactive care.
